LEVI’S 517 STYLE:
In 1969, Levi's introduced the 517 Boot Cut Jean as “Saddleman” jeans, specially made to fit over Western boots. Born during the height of the counterculture movement, the 517 became a canvas for self-expression: political, music preferences or personal style.
Throwback boot-cut style. Inspired by rugged Western wear. Made famous in the ’70s
LEVI’S STA-PREST LINE HISTORY:
This particular pair of Big E’s also feature the sought after “Black Tab” pocket label with gold lettering, indicating the pants have undergone the STA-PREST process (non-ironed).
When Levi’s®introduced the Sta-Prest® line of pants in 1964, they were a revelation.
Thought to be perfect for workers who needed a durable-but-fresh-looking pair of pants for daily wear, they quickly became the go-to pants for Mods, the youth subculture that coalesced around fashion, music and scooters in mid-’60s London. The Mods were, in many ways, the progenitors of today’s youth culture, and their legacy of making style a testament to personal expression has become the prevailing attitude of modern life.
